Small Business Owners Online Forum Marks One Year with 800 Members

By Anonymous

Odessa, FL July 30, 2004 -- With thousands of small business forums and millions of entrepreneurs on the Internet, small business expert Denise O'Berry thought it would be easy to find a forum that focused on day-to-day small business issues. But after five years of looking without any luck, she decided to start her own - the Minding Your Own Business network. Now celebrating its one-year anniversary with 800 registered members, O'Berry feels the idea was right on target.

"Most small business owners face the same frustrating business issues day in and day out with no support network. They work harder and harder every day only to find they need to work even harder tomorrow to achieve the reality of freedom and independence every small business owner wants," says O'Berry. "My vision was to create an online masterminds group for small business owners to share success strategies and to get the support they need when they run into a tough business issue."

Minding Your Own Business members have discussed a broad range of small business issues - customer service, hiring an attorney, managing employees or contractors, launching a new product, medical benefits, time management and much more.

Entrepreneur Karl Fortenbacher says the forum is a beacon of information for a person like him struggling to make it in small business. And marketing expert Doug Hudiburg has also found the small business forum to be one of the best networks for his busy schedule. "It's active, but not so busy I can't keep up with the topics. Besides, Denise is a fantastic moderator."

Janet Totino, who is in the research phase of opening a small business, is thrilled that she's found a network focused on business. "I've joined a few other networks in hopes of mingling and sharing ideas with fellow women or fellow Canadians but it seems they rarely discuss business issues. Thanks again for Minding Your Own Business... it's my absolute favorite network!"

O'Berry realizes the small business owners and entrepreneurs on the network are busy people, so once a week she sends out a Network Nuggets email to point out the top posts on the network for that week. It's been a value added option according to small business owner Ron Amundson. "That's a great idea you have. I wish the other forums did that as well. Talk about a time saver."

Minding Your Own Business is hosted at the Ryze business-networking site. Membership is free and open to all small business owners around the world. Anyone may view the network, but must join in order to post a question or answer. To visit the Minding Your Own Business online community, anyone can go to http://www.asksmallbusiness.com
